Severe Heart Condition

| This graph is from a
patient with severe Cardiac Autonomic Neuropathy. This graph includes very low frequencies which represent the baro-receptors and thermo-regulators. The peaks representing the sympathetic and parasympathetic system have completely disappeared. This indicates that the heart is no longer under control of the autonomic nervous system and the risk of sudden death syndrome is significantly high. Contrast this to the graphs for a healthy subject, and you can see that early detection of cardiac disease is possible with this instrument. Experience with this methodology indicates that it is dangerous to have a condition where the sympathetic nervous system is far more active than the parasympathetic nervous system. |
