There are two distinct “mountain ranges” the left hand range predominantly represents the sympathetic nervous system and the right hand range represents the parasympathetic nervous system.

In a normal test, the subject is asked to lye on their back for 5 minutes, then stand up for 5 minutes and then lye on their back again for a further 5 minutes. This simple test can provide data of the onset of many heart diseases.
