MyoDat - Release Notes

This document outlines the revision history of the software and details any last minute information which may not be present in the manual.

Version 6.57.8130 Build 8130 23rd September 2007	Added import for analogue data in Vicon .csv files Improvements to DataLogger maximum sampling rate in certain scenarios. When using a single channel pair (i.e. channels 1&5 or 2&6, etc) the maximum sampling rate permitted is now 3500Hz (previously it was 5500/2 = 2750Hz). More info... In other scenarios, the maximum rate remains unchanged with all 8 channels at 1000Hz each or a total of 5500/num channels when using 1-7 channels. Also corrected a bug which allowed invalid sample rates for the logger to be specified where the total rate exceeded the 5500 limit of the logger but fell below the 8000 limit possible when using all 8 channels. The profiles now correctly block invalid total rates above 5500 except when using all 8 channels at 1000Hz each (8000Hz) or the new special 2 channel paired mode at 3500Hz each (7000 Hz). Corrected channel indexes in exported ascii files when using non-sequential channels.

Version 6.55.8090 Build 8090 23rd July 2007	Added support for Amplicon PCI260+ A/D Card. Added trigger start from MCC DAS16/12. Corrected a timeout problem when detecting the DataLogger port automatically which affected customers with Bluetooth or other types of virtual serial port which don't respond when queried. Test Session no longer always displays the welcome page (can be disabled) and remembers last used settings.

Version 6.53.8020 Build 8020 05th April 2006	Corrected incorrect channel indexing issues with Amplicon PCI260. Corrected incorrect channel reference on live preview when using inactive channels.
Version 6.52.8000 Build 8000 01st March 2006	Correct some hardware profile indexing issues concerning not connected channels.
Version 6.51.7920 Build 7920 22nd December 2005	Added Filtering support. Data can now be filtered by a moving point average or Finite Impulse Response (FIR) filter providing a user-definable highpass, lowpass and bandpass filter.
Version 6.50.7830 Build 7830 6th December 2005	New AutoSync feature allows video to be semi-automatically synchronised with data. Supports DataLogger Event Marker Remote (DL-EMR).
Version 6.49.7790 Build 7790 14th October 2005	Improved memory handling for large files. Corrected live preview problems for DAS16 series at slow acquisition speeds. Resolved an installation problem on AMD Turion 64 machines where the Aladdin Device Driver could fail to install, generating the error 'Failed to start a service in the Service Control Manager Database0x2008007 0x20007 0x0'
Version 6.48.7570 Build 7570 02nd August 2005	New feature: Video support. Video files can be displayed and synchronised alongside captured data signals. (Requires DirectX 9.0+ runtime).
Version 6.47.7300 Build 7300 16th June 2005	Large DataLogger datasets are now imported much faster. Changes to the way the DataLogger is programmed. After installation, please be sure to re-program your logger before collecting data to avoid any incompatabilities. After DataLogger programming MyoDat will estimate the maximum recording time given the chosen hardware profile and available memory.
Version 6.46.7220 Build 7220 18th May 2005	Printed axis scales are now rendered correctly on all printers. Print Preview of charts corrected. Chart backgrounds are no longer printed. Last used printer settings are now stored and used automatically.
Version 6.45.7070 Build 7070 22nd Mar 2005	Extending analysis cropping capabilities. Improved default analysis layout.
Version 6.44.7020 Build 7020 1st Mar 2005	Corrected error 861 'The acquisition source of this data file could not be properly determined.' when analysing imported .ANC files [CASE: MyoDat050301-2]. Extended DataLogger menu to provide ability to format new memory cards.
Version 6.43.6690 Build 6690 22nd Feb 2005	Fixed memory related issues when loading long files. Vastly improved loading speed of long data files. Progress feedback on the operation is also now provided. New area selection in chart analysis. Choose the selection tool from the toolbar then drag select desired area. Right click to crop / delete the selected data points as appropriate. Improved drawing speed when analysis charts are zoomed, particularly with large datasets.
Version 6.42.6470 Build 6470 24th Jan 2005	Fixed division by zero error which occurred when choosing FFT/PSD analysis from the analysis toolbar of a test already open for analysis. Corrected a problem which caused program menus to be displayed erroneously in French, instead of English, on Windows 95/98/ME systems. [CASE: WinCAS041214-1] List all Patients/Subjects now correctly displays all patients/subjects. Previously not all records were being listed correctly [CASE: WinCAS041221-1] Extended patient/subject search to permit the searching by gender, dominant side and status.
Version 6.41.6450 Build 6450 13th Dec 2004	Fixed instabilities in the analysis toolbar which caused the application to crash when switching between differing modes of analysis.
Version 6.40.6400 Build 6400 5th Nov 2004	New formula editor in charts. Type '=' into a series offset value.	Using the formula editor to change the series unit type is currently not supported. The data will be valid however the series will be labelled and processed incorrectly.
Version 6.39.6370 Build 6370 29th Oct 2004	Corrected importing of DataLogger data which could omit the last channel in certain configurations.
Version 6.38.6350 Build 6350 22nd Oct 2004	Fixed DataLogger voltage scaling issues. Deleted subjects and tests are now removed from the recent subjects and recent tests menus.
Version 6.37.6300 Build 6300 6th Oct 2004	Fixed a hang which may occur when opening the analysis windows.	~~Some instabilities remain in the new analysis toolbar which can cause the application to crash when switching between differing modes of analysis.~~
Version 6.36.6240 Build 6240 17th Sep 2004	New offset adjustment allows you to manually offset transducers or analysis results. This may be useful to manually remove any offsets which could not be removed during the initial setup of the transducers. Additionally the x-axis can also be offset which may aid comparison - however generally it is preferable to use the axes lock functions of the charts for this purpose.	Instabilities in the new analysis toolbar can cause the application to crash when switching between differing modes of analysis. This will be resolved in the next release.
Version 6.35.6200 Build 6200 15th Sep 2004	It is now possible to add/rename/delete test categories directly on the test information form after performing a measurement. Correct sampling rate issues with DataLogger. Requested sampling rate was not being set correctly for new models. MyoDat no longer stops responding whilst programming the DataLogger. Enabled analysis toolbar from the analysis charts. It is now possible to quickly switch between analysis modes from the toolbar. Data with identical axes appears in the same chart automatically and is therefore easy to overlay.
Version 6.34.6000 Build 6000 28th Jul 2004	Improvements to the auto scaling of analysis charts. New test no longer prompts for normal or DataLogger. This is determined by the acquisition source in the hardware profile. DataLogger data is now imported via the Import button as documented. New option during installation sets the default acquisition source and customises the welcome wizard accordingly. Subject medication and intervention lists can now be populated with new items. It is now possible to add/rename/delete note categories directly on the subject clinical information tab.

Version 6.32.5850 Build 5850 4th Jun 2004	Easier comparative analysis feature allows you to select tests in different subjects. Then analyse them simultaneously by simply holding the Ctrl key when choosing your method of analysis. New analysis toolbar provides rapid access to various analysis functions. Popup explorer window upon inserting DataLogger's memory card is now blocked if you are on the DataLogger import page. Fixed a rare intermittent exception which could occur when saving a subject record.
Version 6.31.5650 Build 5650 6th May 2004	Fixed problem with acquisition at low speeds for the DAS16/12.
Version 6.30.5620 Build 5620 15th March 2004	Fixed DataLogger problem whereby unit could not connect if it was connected on serial port with a high COM port number on Windows XP. DataLogger now supports 1GB MIE MMCs.
Version 6.29.5600 Build 5600 4th February 2004	Several fixes to the Hardware Profile Wizard. Custom placements can now be entered by clicking on the Custom button. Accelerometer transducers no longer prompt you to select a muscle for placement, instead you are prompted for a custom location. Additionally the appropriate joint name is now displayed when hovering over joint placements. Added support for importing Ancillary Files (.anc)
Version 6.28.5360 Build 5360 28th November 2003	Added Fatigue Analysis - see updated manual for usage instructions. Updated Encyclopaedia. Minor improvements to the Hardware Profile Wizard. Apply button is now enabled when changes to the profile are made via the step-by-step wizard. User is now warned changes will be lost upon closing dialog without having saved. Improved validation of profile configuration to selected hardware acquisition source/device.
Version 6.27.5280 Build 5280 19th November 2003	Added facilities for programming our new 8 Channel Data Logger.
Version 6.26.5150 Build 5150 14th November 2003	Fixed scales for final analysis of DAS16/12 data. Fixed auto-zero for DAS16/12. Updates to database ready for new 'Event Markers' feature Minor improvements 'Live Preview' now defaults to white background for a cleaner look.
Version 6.25.4900 Build 4900 BETA 21st October 2003	Fixed live preview for DAS16/12. Fixed DAS16/12 not being detected as a 'Any Detected Source'. Fixed numerous sampling rate problems with DAS16/12. Sampling rate could be much higher than requested causing the rate to be out of range generating the error 'Invalid sampling rate'. Fixed 'noisy' data for DAS16/12's not configured correctly during installation - correct configuration is now set automatically by MyoDat. Time axis in analysis for DAS16/12 now correct (relates to sampling rate problem). Fixed export to Excel 'Invalid bracketing of xxx' error. Fixed erroneous error when exporting data from analysis charts. If you chose a filename without extension MyoDat would report 'You must select the type of file to be saved.' despite a valid file type being chosen in the 'Save As' field.	~~Accelerometer transducer incorrectly prompts for a muscle placement in Hardware Profile Wizard.~~ ~~Problems with slow acquisition speeds on DAS16/12 - use sampling rate of 2500 or higher.~~ ~~Scales incorrect in final analysis for DAS16/12.~~
Version 6.24.4640 Build 4640 1st October 2003	Added support for Measurement Computing PCMCIA DAS16/12 acquisition card. Updated CD to include appropriate drivers. Fixed a small problem with retaken tests which caused the same test to be appear multiple times in the analysis window. Updated manual (issue 4).	No new problems.
Version 6.23.4440 Build 4440 16th September 2003	Implemented printing support for the analysis graphs. Minor improvements and fixes to the Test Session Wizard. Added elapsed and remaining time indicators during acquisition. Several minor fixes to the Hardware Profile Dialog. Test Info form is now resizable. Minor fixes and improvements to the toolbars. A drawing problem previously meant the borders of each toolbar may appear corrupt. Additionally it is now possible to customise the toolbars.	~~Printed fonts are too small on some printer models.~~
Version 6.22.4100 Build 4100 14th May 2003	Hardware Profile Dialog now correctly assigns transducer selection via step-by-step interface. Added channel confirmation page to the Hardware Profile step-by-step interface. Installation script updated to register components used during the FFT/PSD analysis, resolving the error: Corrected a problem which would cause the 'Database Backup Overdue' prompt to be displayed repeatedly regardless of the user's postponements. Install script updated to allow updating of older versions without manually uninstalling old version beforehand - see known problems.	When updating an existing installation the existing destination and database location are not retained by the installer. Users with non-default locations must select their old locations as they did during installation originally. This problem does not affect users upgrading via small patch files.
Version 6.21.4000 Build 4000 26th Apr 2003	Added facility to delete a subject from the database. All legacy references to patients have been renamed to subjects. Additional muscle images added to the hardware profile channel pages.	No new problems.
Version 6.20.3940 Build 3940 13th Apr 2003	Correct minor problem with items appearing disabled in the analysis popup menu when they should be enabled. Corrected an overflow exception during FFT/PSD analysis. Implemented an unexpected exception handling mechanism which collects information regarding the event and offers to email it to our support team. This will assist us in resolving problems occurring in the wild. The demo database now includes some demo EMG data. Additional muscle images added to the hardware profile channel pages.	No new problems.
Version 6.19.3840 Build 3840 08th Apr 2003	Extended analysis to include FFT and PSD. Tests can correctly be analysed immediately after measurement without having to close the Test Session window. Previously the file remain locked until the window was closed, preventing analysis. Hardware Profiles dialog now allows the specification of the acquisition device for customers using multiple acquisition sources. The patient and patient search forms are now resizable. Automatically checks for updates periodically, prompting the user with new features/fixes and providing the opportunity to download and install updates automatically. Obviously this feature requires an internet connection. Periodically checks for MIE news bulletins which provide a variety of information like new products, trade exhibitions, training seminars, publications, etc. Naturally this feature can be disabled if you find it irrelevant or intrusive. Fixed 'Syntax error in field definition' problem when exporting to MS Excel.	No new problems.
Version 6.18.3300 Build 3300 7th Feb 2003	Fixed intermittent crash after performing a new measurement. Added encyclopaedia and muscle map relating to surface EMG.	No new problems.
Version 6.17.3025 Build 3025 30th Jan 2003	Hardware Profiles dialog now correctly populates the drop-down lists of the Channel Summary page in a release build. Added an Import button to the tests tab of the patient form to allow tests to be imported from third-party or legacy formats. Limited import support available at the moment. Improved the layout of the tests tab of the patient form to accommodate new import facility and display more tests within the list. Additionally keyboard shortcut accelerators have been added to the various actions available from this page. Entries in the test list of the test history tab of the patient form can now be sorted by clicking on the column headers. Initially the list is now sorted by test date with newer tests appearing at the head of the list. Updated custom controls to correct visual appearance whilst running under Windows XP - buttons now match the user's desktop theme for example.	~~Intermittent crash after performing a new measurement.~~
Version 6.16.2770 Build 2770 18th Jan 2003	Basic analysis options are now provided for DataLogger tests. Duplicate entries no longer appear in the analysis popup menu.	No new problems.
Version 6.15.2750 Build 2750 18th Jan 2003	Imported data logger data is now converted to real world values as determined by the hardware profile.	Initial graph zooming during analysis of real world values could do with improving. Currently each chart is scaled to fit contents - however this can make very small measurement changes seem rather large at first glance.
Version 6.14.2740 Build 2740 18th Jan 2003	Initial support for importing data logger data files complete.	~~Imported data logger data is currently only displayed in the raw digital format. The hardware profile is not yet used to convert the values to their real world values.~~ ~~Duplicate entries appear in the popup analysis menu - one for normal EMG tests and another for DataLogger tests.~~ ~~Exporting DataLogger analysis graphs to Excel fails with 'Syntax error in field definition' error (possibly OfficeXP specific?)~~ When importing multiple data logger files within one session you are only prompted to enter comments for the last test. ~~Only raw analysis of DataLogger tests is currently supported.~~
	New option to delete data logger source files upon successful import.
	Selecting 'Analyse' within the 'Test Session Wizard' after performing multiple measurements within the same test session now correctly analyses all the tests within that session rather than just the last test.
Version 6.13.2620 Build 2620 20th Dec 2002	Updated versioning to be consistent with old DOS software plus minor enhancements.	No new problems.
Version 1.12.2550 Build 2550 26th Nov 2002	Installation script updated to install correct icon for the application shortcut. The correct release notes are now installed. Additionally the setup script is now built using version 8 of InstallShield Developer.	~~Test duration is not displayed on the status bar whilst conducting a test.~~
	Windows XP manifest file added to improve display, layout and rendering of controls when running under Windows XP. Main custom controls updated (namely list and treelist) updated to take this into account.	~~Other custom controls not yet updated - these will render in the old style.~~
	DataLogger media card is now detected upon insertion.	Upon DataLogger media card insertion a popup explorer window may be launched by Windows or by the card readers drivers - depending upon the operating system, card drivers and system configuration. This window is superfluous but as yet its creation is not blocked programmatically, forcing the user to close the window manually.
	The TestSession wizard now remembers the previous values used for the test parameters, completing the form automatically. The clinician performing the test (testor) must be set once per session (initally defaults to the logged in user if possible), this is then used as a default until the software is quit. The test parameters default to the last values used when testing the currently selected patient. If the patient has not been tested previously, the default parameters are used..	~~Implementation for importing DataLogger data is not yet complete.~~
	The 'Normal EMG' and 'Data Logger' test session wizards now display a distinctive image of the appropriate product. Additionally the test session wizards can now be resized.
	Internal database structure updated to accommodate forthcoming changes and features.
Version 1.11.2320 Build 2320 16th Nov 2002	Added initial implementation for importing data from the DataLogger unit.	~~DataLogger media card is not automatically detected upon insertion.~~
Version 1.10.2100 Build 2100 13th Sep 2002	Initial public release. Feedback welcome.	Real-time display during acquisition is not customisable.
	Hardware profiles can now be correctly edited and saved. Previously the profile items could not be expanded within the tree.	Event triggers during acquisition are not implemented.
	Hardware profiles can now be deleted.	'Rolling start' acquisition is not implemented.
	Added balloon help to real-time display during acquisition to assist first time users.	~~Hardware Profiles dialog is not populating the drop-down lists of the Channel Summary page in release builds.~~

Version 1.00.1580 Build 1580 23rd Aug 2002	None - pre-release. Feedback welcome.	Analysis is limited, more to come in later updates.
		Custom transducer classes/models cannot be created.
		~~Hardware profile wizard easy channel configuration pages are not complete. Final muscle maps are missing. Use the advanced summary page instead.~~
		Import feature from DOS MyoDat software is not yet implemented.
