| |
Version 1.30.5740
Build 5740
6th Apr 2004 |
- New acquisition routine is less demanding on the system. Also
resolves a problem where the Digital Analyser was not detected
correctly, falsely reporting an error.
- Added new audio instructions for patients/subjects to follow
helping to maintain a consistent testing protocol accross all
subjects and testors. Audio currently only supplied in English but
can be customised via the options dialog.
- Statistics tables are no longer permanently hidden upon being
closed. An entry in the chart list allows them to be made visible
again in the same way charts can.
- Automatically checks for updates periodically, prompting the
user with new features/fixes and providing the opportunity to
download and install updates automatically. Obviously this feature
requires an internet connection.
- Periodically checks for MIE news bulletins which provide a
variety of information like new products, trade exhibitions,
training seminars, publications, etc. Naturally this feature can be
disabled if you find it irrelevant or intrusive.
- Test Info form is now resizable.
- Minor fixes and improvements to the toolbars. A drawing problem
previously meant the borders of each toolbar may appear corrupt.
Additionally it is now possible to customise the toolbars.
- Corrected a problem which would cause the 'Database Backup
Overdue' prompt to be displayed repeatedly regardless of the user's
postponements.
- Install script updated to allow updating of older versions
without manually uninstalling old version beforehand.
- Implemented an unexpected exception handling mechanism which
collects information regarding the event and offers to email it to
our support team. This will assist us in resolving problems
occurring in the wild.
- The patient and patient search forms are now resizable.
- Improved the layout of the tests tab of the patient form to
accommodate new import facility and display more tests within the
list. Additionally keyboard shortcut accelerators have been added to
the various actions available from this page.
- Entries in the test list of the test history tab of the patient
form can now be sorted by clicking on the column headers. Initially
the list is now sorted by test date with newer tests appearing at
the head of the list.
- Updated custom controls to correct visual appearance whilst
running under Windows XP - buttons now match the user's desktop
theme for example.
| |
Version 1.29.5400
Build 5400
7th Nov 2002 |
- The TestSession wizard now remembers the previous values used
for the test parameters, completing the form automatically. The
clinician performing the test (testor) must be set once per session,
this is then used as a default until the software is quit. The test
parameters default to the last values used when testing the
currently selected patient. If the patient has not been tested
previously, the default parameters are used. The default parameters
may be changed within the program options.
- Resolved NT4 incompatibility. Process32First() and accompanying
functions are not supported on Windows NT4. Whilst these functions
were not being used on NT4, the dependency was being seen by the OS
causing the following error: "procedure entry point Process32First
could not be located in the dynamic link library Kernel32.dll".
| |
- Diagnostics software included on the CD-ROM
(Software/Diagnostics/) updated to V1.13.0.0120 to correct an NT4
incompatibility (described above).
- Fixed save dialog when exporting graph data to third party
formats like Excel (.xls) or text (.csv, .txt) for example. The
dialog's resources had been lost during the previous release causing
the dialog to be displayed with missing images and text.
Version
1.28.5280
Build 5280
12th Sep 2002 |
- Updated installation script to include some required database
components which were missing from previous releases.
- Transducer Help now displays the title of the page being viewed
rather than a generic title.
- Updated the documentbar, which is now only displayed when
multiple views are open. Additionally the windows' system menu (or
custom context menu where applicable) can now be accessed by right
clicking on the tab.
Version
1.27.5260
Build 5260
1st Aug 2002 |
- Added data export facility to analysis windows. Any analysis
charts visible can now be exported by selecting 'Save' from the
'File' menu of the menubar or the 'Save' icon on the
toolbar. Export formats currently include Comma Separated Values
(.csv), Tab Delimited ASCII Text (.asc; .tab; .txt) and Microsoft
Excel (.xls). Other export formats may be implemented in the
future, subject to feasibility and demand.
Version
1.26.4950
Build 4950
10th Jul 2002 |
- Endurance Test & Strength Test Bio-Feedback resource leak
fixed. On Windows 95/98/Me systems this may have caused a run-time
error after extended periods of continued testing (>5 minutes),
leaving the system low on GDI resources.
- Screen saver is now temporarily disabled (if enabled) whilst a
test is being conducted.

- Added backup/restore facility to the File menu. Allows users to
quickly backup their patient/subject database and test data files.
(Disk spanning currently not supported)
Restoration of backup facility not yet implemented.
- New help files provide information regarding the placement of
the myometer transducer and pinch/grip usage. Available from the
Help menu, or from the 'Tell me more...' link during the test
wizard.
- Comprehensive references section (available from the
Help->Pinch/Grip or Help->Myometer menus)
- Implemented an automatic backup reminder which prompts the user
to backup after a given duration (default = 14 days).
Version
1.22.4270
Build 4270
14th Mar 2002 |
- Fixed issues when running under restricted user accounts. Users
without administration/power user privileges received an error
during initialisation: 'Can't update system registry' and were
prompted to use 'regedit'. Note, however, that installation still
requires administration privileges.
- Fixed multi-user settings problem. Users installing the software
for 'all users' may have had problems accessing the database when
running the software from an account other than that used during
installation.
- Implemented a completely new Options dialog. Now both individual
settings and global machine settings can be configured (later
requires admin privileges by default). The new dialog should also
resolve the unconfirmed problems with the old dialog when running
Windows 95.
- Updated installation script and drivers. Now using drivers
signed for Windows XP.
Version
1.21.3950
Build 3950
11th Feb 2002 |
- Endurance Test - Value meter displayed an incorrect percentage
scale on the test form - this has been corrected.
Reported instance of Options form causing computer to
freeze on Windows 95. Status unconfirmed, feedback welcome.
- Endurance Test - Value meter displayed an arbitrary percentage
scale of 0-100 on the peak measurement form - a percentage here is
not possible. The value meter now displays Newton's on both
scales.
Diagnostics registry tab cannot gather registry
information when running Windows XP without administrator
privileges. This is a low priority problem and does not affect
general program operation.
- Diagnostics - Enhanced to provide additional
information. Primarily serial port information and availability to
assist with diagnosing hardware detection / data acquisition
problems. Additional user information is also now gathered
(user/profile name, locale/regional settings, application installed
location, database location, Internet Explorer installed version)
- Diagnostics - Progress bar now displayed, indicating status,
whilst system information is being gathered.
- Patient Search Results - The form can now be resized.
- Analysis - Menu bar displayed incorrect menu during analysis.
Main application menu is now correctly displayed.
Version
1.20.3750
Build 3750
20th Dec 2001 |
- Installation from CD no longer prompts "Please insert disk:
1".
Version
1.19.3750
Build 3750
18th Dec 2001
- Analysis - Initial chart layout significantly improved. Charts
are now docked in logical positions and sized to fit within your
screen resolution. The analysis windows now default to opening
maximised within the main application window and have persistent
position, size and maximised status. The window persistence is
maintained separately for varying screen resolutions and users. As
before chart layout within the window remains persistent, however
this information is now also stored for varying screen resolutions
and users in-keeping with the window persistence. For maximum
flexibility, separate profiles are maintained for each different
type of analysis available (i.e. single pinch/grip endurance,
multiple pinch/grip endurance, single myometer endurance, etc).
The treatment and intervention sections have not been
implemented. In addition it is not yet possible to customise the
categories in the clinical or test information sections.
- Analysis - Data series titles and units were incorrect for many
of the analysis graphs, this has now been corrected.
The text for the y-axis nomenclature is too small in the graphs.
- Analysis - All chart windows now scale from zero (or lowest
negative value if applicable) to maximum value (or maximum target
value) plus 10%. This maintains consistency with the trend charts
and ensures target markers are always visible even if the targets
were never reached. This new behaviour can be overridden in the
options if desired.
- Quick-test allocation to a subject is not currently implemented.
After performing a quick test and subsequent analysis it should be
possible to select a subject with which to allocate the quick
test.
- Main Window - The main application window now supports
persistence (i.e. the position, size and maximised status for the
main application window is now restored to the last position,
together with the positions of the main toolbars). The application
now defaults to opening a maximised application window when no
persistence information is present.
- Cancelling a test wizard does not automatically remove the test
record and matching data file (if applicable), meaning false
datasets will be included in any subsequent group analyses. The
test record may be removed manually from the patient record until
automatic removal is implemented.
- Strength Test - Trigger threshold was not being stored correctly
with the test, thus upon analysis some successive series were not
being detected correctly.
- It is possible to delete demo-data from the database.
- Test Wizards - Ending the test prematurely now correctly closes
the data file, allowing for immediate analysis of the partial
test.
Exporting data to third-party formats is currently disabled.
- Patient Form - It is no longer possible to delete the Quick Test
patient record (reserved for the default allocation of Quick
Tests). Furthermore, to avoid possible confusion, it is no longer
possible to edit key information for this patient.
- Strength Test - Enabling bio-feedback now issues a warning about
the potential bias which may be introduced as a result of the
bio-feedback. This warning can be suppressed from within the
options if desired.
Version
1.18.3530
Build 3530
13th Dec 2001
- Test Wizards - Major fix. Found a small resource leak in the
value meter bar control, this was the cause of intermittent
crashes on Windows 9x/ME machines during both the Strength and
Endurance Tests.
- No new problems reported.
- Options - Implemented some user-customisations available from
the 'Options' facility of the 'Tools' menu.
- Database - Small fix to resolve a potential crash if no database
could be found. The database combo control failed to verify a
valid database had been established before attempting to read it.
Thus without a database, attempts to create new patients, search
or create new tests would result in a crash rather than simply the
error message as per design.
Version
1.17.3440
Build 3440
11th Dec 2001
- Endurance Test Wizard - Major fixes. Re-written 'measure peak'
and 'perform test' forms from the ground up. This should resolve
the intermittent crashes being experienced and the messages
reporting "Data collection could not be stopped" or
similar at various stages throughout the process.
- No new problems reported.
- Endurance Test Wizard - Selecting 'Analyse the data' on the
'Finished' form at the end of the endurance test wizard will no
longer produce a blank analysis window. This problem only affected
pinch-grip endurance tests because of an invalid test type ID for
this specific test.
- Analysis Trend Charts no longer auto-scale to fit contents but
auto-scale from zero (or lowest negative value if applicable) to
maximum value plus 10%. This avoids small trend changes appearing
very large at first glance. This new behaviour can be overridden
in the options if desired.
- Strength Test Analysis 'Release Rate' now calculated as a
positive value rather negative to create some consistency
throughout the analysis. This goes against the purist's view
that any reduction should be reflected as a negative value,
however users found a negative release rate somewhat ambiguous
especially as fatigue rate was a positive value. Feedback welcome
if people would prefer the option!
- Strength Test Wizard - Test Page form updated. Illustration of
traffic lights inserted for improved patient/subject readability.
Feedback welcome from foreign customers who may prefer the English
text removing from the lights?
- Test Wizards - Digital force readout on 'calibration', 'measure
peak' (endurance only) and 'perform test' forms no longer display
shadowed segments, improving readability for visually impaired
subjects.
- Implemented 'Copy To Clipboard' feature on Diagnostics form.
Version
1.16.3380
Build 3380
6th Dec 2001
- Fixed incorrect Y-Offset for the regression lines in the
Analysis Trend Charts.
- The registry tab of the diagnostics form is not populated on
Win95/98/ME. This issue is a low-priority problem but will be
addressed in a future release.
- The registry information is now included in the diagnostics
report for all platforms. Additionally application key is also
stored.
Version
1.15.3330
Build 3330
5th Dec 2001
- Removed dependence upon PSAPI.DLL used by the new 'Diagnostics'
facility. This DLL is only available on WinNT/2000/XP machines.
The DLL is now loaded at runtime if possible for suitable
platforms, rather than being an immediate requirement for all
platforms. An alternate method is used to obtain the information
for Win95/98/ME platforms.
The registry information of the diagnostics report
produced via the Diagnostics form is not populated on Windows
95/98/ME. Similarly the registry tab of the diagnostics
form also appears blank on the affected platforms. This issue is a
low-priority problem but will be addressed in a future release.
- Installation script fixed to address Windows Installer Error
2711.0 during un-installation. This error was caused by a
documented bug in MS Windows Installer. The bug remains in MS
Windows Installer, however the script now employs a workaround to
avoid generating the scenario which produces this behaviour.
The regression lines in the Analysis Trend Charts have
an incorrect Y-Offset when analysing a small number of tests. The
gradient and regression calculation is correct, only the y-offsets
are affected. This will be fixed in the next release.
Version
1.14.3300
Build 3300
5th Dec 2001
- Added 'Diagnostics' facility (available from the Tools menu).
Allow users experiencing problems to produce a detailed system
report to be returned to support for analysis.
Updated releases prompt "Please insert disk:
1" during installation when installing from CD. Installation
works normally for downloaded or local copies. See knowledgebase
article WinCasKB011130-1 for details.
- Strength Test Wizard - Test Page form updated. Controls
rearranged to accommodate pending traffic light illustration.
Automatic test triggers reportedly too sensitive, giving
false starts. Implementing support within the 'Options' form to
change trigger thresholds for next release - currently change can
only be made via registry settings.
Version
1.13.3150
Build 3150
3rd Dec 2001
- Strength Analysis - Statistics form displayed 0.0 as the maximum
value if all values being compared were negative. Now correctly
displays the highest value regardless of sign.
Initial automatic layout of analysis forms needs
improving.
- Database - Added 'Delete' button to toolbar to provide a means
to delete the active patient record and associated tests.
Version
1.12.3140
Build 3140
29th Nov 2001
- Strength Analysis - Statistics form now displays statistical
information relating to each test rather than blank entries.
A report has been made the software occasionally fails to detect
the Digital Analyser unit (acquisition device). Clicking 'Retry'
once, or occasionally several times, seems to resolve the problem.
This problem is currently being investigated, any feedback
welcome.
- Strength Analysis - Successive Tests form no longer displays
superfluous markers used for debugging.
An intermittent Run-Time error has been found when
performing an Endurance Test. So far this problem seems restricted
to Windows 95/98 machines and seems related to memory usage. This
problem is currently being investigated.
- Strength Analysis - Raw Profile form now displays cycle markers
(Tx and Rx) illustrating the Tensing / Relaxing action of each
cycle.
- Strength Test Wizard - Test Page form updated. Progress bar now
updates as time elapses rather than as cycles are completed,
giving the subject a more direct response to their progress.
Additionally, digital time readouts no longer display shadowed
segment improving readability for visually impaired subjects.
- Demo data updated to include an example patient; complete with
sample endurance, strength and repeat strength profiles.
Note: Updated demo data will only be installed for fresh
installations - your database files are never overwritten (unless
stated otherwise) when updating software..
- Chart background images now included with installation. These
were omitted from previous installations by error.
Version
1.11.3050
Build 3050
26th Nov 2001
- Installation routine updated to resolve a problem relating to the
dongle. The hasp device driver was not automatically being installed
correctly, resulting in the need for manual setup of this component.
- No new problems reported.
- Minor version number updated. An incorrect minor version number
was being displayed in the about box and executable resources. (The
build number was unaffected by this error)
- Check for updates feature (available from the Welcome dialog)
improved to notify our server of your current version for a more
intelligent response. Automated version checking and downloading
is planned for the future.
Version
1.10.3020
Build 3020
20th Nov 2001
Welcome dialog is intermittently rendered incorrectly with
buttons appearing visually corrupt.
This problem is currently being investigated.
- Import feature from DOS CAS software is disabled.
Invalid data in DOS files has been found to cause instabilities in
the import routine.
This problem has been isolated and should be resolved in the next
release.
